"Shouldn't I be the one to go" Black Snow immediately stepped forward, linking her arm with Xianyao.
"Alright, you can go if you want," Wolf Laugh looked at Black Snow for a moment and then said. This was originally Magic Sound Sect's affair; it was reasonable and justifiable for them to be here, so there was no reason to refuse.
This way, Xianyao and the others followed Wolf Laugh into an annex estate which didn't seem very different from other places but felt comfortable and casual. This was one of the distinctive aspects of Wolf's House; even the Sect Leader enjoyed equal treatment with everyone else regarding accommodation and meals. There were no servants to announce their arrival, so they could only knock normally.
"Pupil Wolf, bring the person from Magic Sound Sect to pay respects."
Wolf Laugh called out outside and referred to himself as "wolf," which made Xianyao want to laugh. This name still had a sense of humor.
"Come in!" A voice responded inside. This led Xianyao to think that there was someone else present besides Wolf Ironheart, given the soft feminine tone.
Wolf Laugh led them into the room while introducing: "Master, this is Xianyao and Black Snow from Magic Sound Sect."
"House Master"
The woman seemed momentarily puzzled before laughing. She hadn't expected that Xianyao would call her that; it was quite amusing.
“Brother Wolf, is this lady your teacher, Ironheart” Finally, Xianyao decided to confirm as the matter felt too incredible.
"That's correct. Do you find it surprising I anticipated such thoughts from both of you; my master is female but her age... cough cough, I shouldn't say."
Seeing the cold glint in Ironheart’s eyes, Wolf Laugh quickly retracted his words.
Xianyao looked at Ironheart and seemed to understand what Wolf Laugh implied. Ironheart's strength had reached the divine realm; her appearance might not reflect her true age. She should be much older than Wolf Laugh theoretically, but she clearly didn't like discussing it.
"Tell me then, why are you here today If you want a request, I've said before that this is an ancestral matter and can't be changed. Though I too wish to resolve it."
Ironheart looked at Xianyao and the others, thinking they had come for exactly this.
To obtain something without solving the puzzle would not be unheard of; some people even contested it for a long time. Although she wished to grant their request, ancestral rules couldn't be broken—even if the ancestor was deceased.
"No, Master, they've already solved it," Wolf Laugh immediately explained, knowing his teacher had misunderstood. Such misunderstanding was common, and he would have done likewise in her position.
“What They’ve solved it” Ironheart looked at Wolf Laugh, wanting to know if this was true or not a joke
This she believed him too cowardly to pull off, so truth seemed likely. But why had the puzzle been cracked so suddenly
"Yes, Master, guess who solved it" Wolf Laugh asked with a hint of teasing.
“Who Should be them two,” Ironheart looked at Xianyao and Black Snow; they must have brought him for his importance.
“Not the duo, one person.” Wolf Laugh continued to tease.
"One person I recall this puzzle included both medical knowledge and chess. This person must be proficient in both," Ironheart said unexpectedly but not too surprised; calmly observing Xianyao's group for any signs of deception.
“You!” Ironheart pointed at Xianyao.
"Master, you're spot-on!" Wolf Laugh flattered her with a compliment.
"Of course I am; your mention that he’s called 'Xianyao' was enough," Ironheart smiled as if she had chosen him based on his name alone.
“Then Master, do you know how long it took to solve” Wolf Laugh asked again.
"How long A month or so should be normal; surely not instant." Ironheart replied.
"Hehe, Master, I picked him up from outside the mountain gate this afternoon," laughed Wolf, waiting for Ironheart to show surprise.
"This afternoon You mean he solved them in just an afternoon" Ironheart was quite surprised. She knew how difficult these problems were; many of them seemed unsolvable and would take years to crack a single one, yet he managed three in less than half a day. This seems a bit far-fetched.
"That's right. He solved all of them within an afternoon. It includes the time for solving them and he did it alone," Wolf said and informed Ironheart about the situation as she should have reported to her.
"Is this true" Ironheart looked at Xiao Yao, her beautiful eyes emitting a mysterious light.
"It's just luck. I've seen these problems before, so I was lucky," Xiao Yao bowed and smiled.
"Oh, so that’s how it is. But since he solved them, here you go." Ironheart took out a box from her house and casually threw it over as if she were tossing away trash.
To her, this was indeed useless junk that had to be kept.
However, unlike her, Black Snow immediately received the item carefully, cautiously opened it, and examined it thoroughly, finding it genuine and well-preserved.
While Black Snow was looking at the object, Xiao Yao was talking with Ironheart.
"What You’re not from the Magic Sound Sect" When she heard Wolf say that he wanted to let Xiao Yao enter the Wang family, Ironheart asked doubtfully because she thought Xiao Yao must be from the Magic Sound Sect; otherwise, why would he come along with them
"I’m not from the Magic Sound Sect. However, thinking about it again, I don’t want to join the Xiao Yao sect either. I like freedom, and even though the Xiao Yao sect is very free, that’s also a kind of restriction," said Xiao Yao, changing his mind at this moment and didn't want to enter the Xiao Yao sect.
"Oh, it doesn’t matter then. If you wish to join in the future, come over." Ironheart smiled and replied.
"Now that we’ve solved your problems, should you keep your promise" asked Xiao Yao with a smile, regardless of whether he joins or not, this issue needs to be addressed.
"You’re referring to allowing me to view the books in the Xiao Yao sect’s library Of course. Here is the token for the Xiao Yao sect’s library; you can stay inside and read them for a year but cannot take any outside nor copy it down. If you remember everything, then it will be yours..." Ironheart said while handing over the token to Xiao Yao. This token looked somewhat old, likely left behind by their forefather.
In fact, this token was not something everyone could have; in addition, this was the only way to enter the library regardless of one's status or position. Without it, even the sect master couldn’t get inside.
The conditions for obtaining such a token were numerous and difficult to meet; there might only be one token per generation that could last indefinitely.
No matter how you looked at it, this token was something valuable that the Wang family had preserved for hundreds of years without using. This also demonstrated their respect for their ancestors.
"Black Snow, should I look at this or should you" asked Xiao Yao, although he wanted to do it himself to get the best effect possible, but he needed to discuss with Black Snow as well.
"This…" Black Snow was about to speak when she was interrupted by someone.
"It must be you. The forefather said that those who solved the problems would have access; if it was three people solving them, there could've been a discussion, but since he did all of them alone, only you can enter," Ironheart stated.
"Then I’ll go," Xiao Yao said without hesitation.
“Alright then, tomorrow morning let Lang take you to the library. Rest well today and also, your monster is quite interesting,” Ironheart finished speaking and looked at Eet sitting on Xiao Yao’s head.
"Monster" Wolf was surprised.
"What Do you think it's just an ordinary little girl Your judgment seems flawed. Starting tomorrow, you'll go to the Rakshasa Tower for training to improve your strength," Ironheart glanced at Lang and said indifferently.
“No! Master…” Wolf cried out in horror, indicating that this Rakshasa Tower was not a normal place but one where he would suffer greatly.
"Then you’ll have to stay for another month. If you shout again, I'll make it two months," Ironheart said sternly.
“…” Wolf immediately shut up; he didn’t want to spend even a single extra day there, let alone an entire month.
However, this one month had to be endured since the Rakshasa Tower was a sacred training ground that could greatly enhance someone’s strength in short periods of time. But there was a limit: prolonged stays would become unbearable for anyone, resulting in injury, madness, or even death. (To be continued)ged everything.Sometimes, things in this world turn out like this; you can calculate all conditions but because of some small fluctuations, events begin to develop in directions you could never predic...
